my rebuttal to the left's attack on the restoring honor rally

So, the same folks who have been yelping that a mosque near Ground Zero in New York would be insensitive to the families of 9/11 victims are rallying on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial on the anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King’s “I Have a Dream” speech.

King’s speech was delivered during the long and ugly fight for civil rights in America. People died during that struggle; people were beaten, shot, abused and forced to endure serious attacks on their personal dignity. I can imagine that the people who suffered through all that brutality, many of whom are still alive today, aren’t too happy to see the anniversary one of the major events in their struggle politicized by cable TV shills Glenn Beck, Sarah Palin and others for political purposes during an election year. Never mind that the views being expressed at the rally run contrary to much of what Dr. King stood for. That states’ rights are being trumpeted on the anniversary of King’s famous speech is pathetically ironic.

You’d think people who spend so much time lecturing others about sensitivity would understand why their anniversary rally is wrong.

the above cartoon and caption are the works of MIKE THOMPSON, political blog writer and cartoonist for the DETROIT FREE PRESS, and appeared in the papers online version on 28 august 2010.

MIKE is a committed lefty. some questions for MIKE: this was a rally which was announced in advance. where were you with criticism for the RESTORING HONOR RALLY before it took place, MIKE? at least the folks who oppose the HAMOSQUE have the testicular fortitude to stand in the open and accept the slings and arrows the left is directing at them in advance of an incident they object to occurring, while you sit on the sidelines and draw bland and uninspiring cartoons. i noticed you made glen look like SLICK WILLIE, is that an indicator you still pine for him?

you say that the views expressed at the rally are contrary to much of what KING stood for. perhaps you would be so kind as to enumerate and explain, in detail, which views were expressed, and by whom (direct quotes, not paraphrasing or interpreting), and how exactly those quotes run contrary to KING.

MIKE, i would like to take the time to remind you of possibly the most famous line from KING'S speech 'I have a dream that one day my four children will be judged by the content of their character and not the color of their skin.' MIKE i hope you are sharp enough to realize KING was talking about all minorities, not just his kids.

that being said i want to point something out to MIKE and others, who have problems with you and i expressing our rights to FREEDOM OF SPEECH and ASSEMBLE. the citizens who gather at the town halls, TEA PARTIES, and rallies have measured OBAMA'S character, and found it to be lacking, to wit;

"The Cambridge Police Department acted stupidly."

"I think when you spread the wealth around, it's good for everybody."

"No, no. I have been practicing...I bowled a 129. It's like -- it was like Special Olympics, or something."

"It's not surprising, then, they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren't like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations."

on his relationship with domestic terrorist BILL AYERS, "this is an example of what I’m talking about. This is a guy who lives in my neighborhood, who’s a professor of English in Chicago who I know and who I have not received some official endorsement from. He’s not somebody who I exchange ideas from on a regular basis. And the notion that somehow as a consequence of me knowing somebody who engaged in detestable acts 40 years ago, when I was 8 years old, somehow reflects on me and my values doesn’t make much sense,..", remember OBAMA said this after attending a launching party for himself at AYERS home in 1995, served on 2 boards with AYERS, and wrote a review for an AYERS book. remember AYERS said "kill all rich people.....kill your parents."

we can't forget OBAMA'S relationship with JEREMIAH WRIGHT, the guy who married him, but he never heard a word he spoke during 20 years of sitting through his sermons. "I wasn't in church during the time that these statement were made, I did not hear such incendiary language myself, personally. Either in conversations with him or when I was in the pew, he always preached the social gospel."

the list is endless, literally. and this is why people are pushing back against OBAMA, REID and PELOSI. but all these things are lost on you and your kind MIKE. call us racist and homophobes all you like. AMERICA is waking up.

also i want to turn the mirror back your way MIKE, so you have the opportunity to do a bit of self reflection, into your own hate, political motivation, and lack of class, which are all on display here, in your drawing of an assassinated President, "asking" to be shot.

  1. Lest we forget, there's the new-found threat of being picked up for going to get ice cream with grandma and grandpa...

I will say this, as I compare King's dream to Beck's vision: King did espouse a bit of the same "social justice" that Beck condemns.

However, that is not the predominate message that King put forward, nor is is the largest issue Beck is dealing with.

It seems to me that equal justice, faith, and personal responsibility are the common themes that are most pervasive if we compare the two men honestly.

Different times, to be certain, but the same nation working toward the same end result: The right of every man to Life, Liberty, and The Pursuit of Happiness.

  3. Are you talking about that church picnic in front of the Lincoln Memorial? Yeah, that was adorable how they almost got as many people to show up as a NAMBLA event.

  4. bret didn't think i would post his comment. bret was wrong. bret is apparently a NAMBLA member, as he knows how many people attend their events.

bret is mad at me because i called him out for making fun of people with physical and mental handicaps, including SARAH PALIN, who in a post he called retarded, and used a group picture of handicapped kids to illistrate his point. keep in mind SARAH has a kid with downs syndrome.

brets response was to call me a fag, for calling him out. strange that the first time we interact, he calls me a fag, but he's the one counting noses at NAMBLA events.

bret also thinks that those who attended the RESTORING HONOR RALLY are "inbred" and "racist".

bret posts on an a libertarian site with strong "anarchist" leanings. nice to have the compassionate left show their true colors, with very little prodding.

  5. I don't have anything against Sarah Palin. Her and people like George W. Bush have helped show us just how far people with mental disabilities have come in this country. Only in America, God bless her.

Also, I take a little offense at saying I called the Glenn Beck rally on 8-28 attendees "racist." I didn't, and if you check the whole article, you might notice I never said that (though I am not surprised by your lack of reading comprehension... I think you read between the lines and just interpret it as part of your world narrative). I also wrote an article specifically about how the Tea Party is not about race at all.

Noses? You think that's what I was paying attention to at those NAMBLA rallies? Oh what, that's a figure of speech? Ok... noted... noted...

And drop the euphemistic bullshit. Left's true colors? What, I'm not politically correct and I call you insulting names? So sue me, you America hating piece of shit.

"Restore honor" to your own country. Go back to Europe, they have plenty of churchs and theocracies and intolerance there, and you don't have to worry about secret-muslim presidents turning you into a socialist. You're all talk, like the pussy ass hippies who bitched and moaned about moving to Canada under Bush. Get over it: you ran a guy who flip flops more than Brett Favre and a retard from the big fridge up north.

Wah wah wah, you neo-con-niving bitch. Go cry to the 19th century, where your ideas still seemed plausible.

And please don't retort with some "Oh so you love Obama" crap. I have no love for the token president who does nothing but token gestures. My question is: why don't you worship his bank loving, war mongering, supply-side economic ass? The guy might as well be a Republican, but all you do is bitch bitch bitch.

  6. i stand corrected, you did not say the attendees were racist. i got that inference from some of the other shit you write.

this will now probably be the last time i allow one of your comments, based on your hatefulness.

maybe and maybe not. i have to say i do appreciate you being my first troll. i can see your pain, it is evident to all, but don't be mad at me because your friends over at NAMBLA also find you to be a disgusting piece of shit, and the only friends you have are dogs.

  7. What a fucking cock-knocker. You dare to question J-Summ's love of country? Pray tell, my Leftist countryman, which branch of America's armed services did YOU serve in? Last I checked, me & J served together in the Army. We both watched the Berlin Wall come down to end the Cold War from FRONT-ROW seats, first fucking hand. Where were you? At a NAMBLA rally or in some hippie-led schoolroom learning art theory? Where were you during the Gulf War while me & J were learning just how flimsy Russian tanks really were? Enlighten me, oh Enlightened One, he who admitted above he was counting something else at NAMBLA rallies? Perhaps you were counting the vast numbers of little boys you wished to fellate?

And speaking of flip flops, your diatribe above switches messages more times than your Beloved Obamessiah (Blessed Be His Name). I'm fucking amazed you donn't stammer your way through with a bunch of "uhhhh's" and "Let Me Be Clear" statements.

Back to the 8-28 Rally and the backlash....Last I saw, Black America doesn't own that date. If I mowed my fucking grass on 8-28 does that mean I'm taking away from King's dream? Was I supposed to cower inside in my white shame and start writing reparations checks to the NAACP? Last I checked, Black America doesn't own the Lincoln Memorial, either. ALL OF AMERICA owns it. And the crowd on 8-28 was far from being all white. A majority perhaps, because far too many black Americans are still drinking Obama's spiked punch and following him just because he's 50% black (if I'd said Kool Aid then some asshole Lefty would call me a cracker racist Tebagger). What the he hell is so wrong about wanting to restore a sense of honor and pride to America? Instead the Left wants us to apologize to the known universe for being Americans. Fuck that. If America is so vile, evil, and rotten and wrong, then why the fuck are all these illegals (and legals) killing themselves to get here and live the dream? Riddle me that, Socialists? Maybe because they leave their rat-hole Third World backwards-assed socialist nations to COME HERE because it's a damn sight better than where they were despite our problems?

And while upwards of half a million honorable Americans were peacefully and legally assembled on that lawn to listen to some speakers, a fucking government-sanctioned COUNTER-RALLY was kicking off across the way with just a few thousand people.

According to the DC police, not a single 8-28 Rally person was arrested for anything. The cops said that there were no problems that day with the Beck rally people. A crowd with hundreds of thousands, and not a problem. However the same cop was quoted as stating that the same could NOT be said about the other rally....Liberals and Socialists and Collective Fucktards simply cannot get together in a group without someone doing something stupid to get arrested for. Half a million people at one rally and not so much as a peep, and you fuckers on the Left gather 20 people to bitch about the G20 and you end up starting fires, throwing rocks, and looting stores. Fuck you. Fuck you all very, very much.

  8. J-summ - I hope you don't mind if I chime in here but you know I'm a reformed leftist, so this is prime fixin's for me...

First off... who ever heard of a guy who called himself "Ginx?" I watch this TV show on USA, and the main character's mother is called "Jinx." Or maybe she spells it "Ginx."

    But I digress...

I'll be honest - I didn't completely read all of Ginx's second post, because his first post was such drivel. But the one line from his second post that caught my eye and I found incredibly telling was this:

"Restore honor" to your own country. Go back to Europe, they have plenty of churchs and theocracies and intolerance there, and you don't have to worry about secret-muslim presidents turning you into a socialist."

Ginxy.. if you knew one little thing about America and her greatness, you'd know that I have just as much right to freely worship my God as you have to claim that there is no such thing as the magical mystery wonder-being in the sky.

Nobody has asked you to go to church. All we are asking is that you learn how to treat others as you'd expect them to treat you - something that clearly got past you during your youth, when most of us learn simple little things like respect, and how to properly use a Kleenex.

This is what "Restore Honor" is all about.

We have become a society that is more concerned about Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan, than we are concerned about the problem with spending nearly a trillion dollars on political kickbacks for political gain.

We have a House Speaker who at one moment feign tears as she talks about hostility in political discourse, but then will not condemn a man in her own party who says the opposition party wants Americans to "die quickly."

We have a group of people in power who are acting like the massive taxation of America against her will is equivalent to the real struggle for Civil Rights in America, but then will not accept responsibility when our health care premiums skyrocket because of the legislation they enacted.

We on the right are fully aware of the fact that our nation was founded in large part with the sole purpose of leaving a theocracy of sorts. However, we also do not lie about our nation's past; we know that our Founders were men of great faith, and even those who were Deists or Atheists understood the importance of a solid set of values and principles intertwined within the fabric of a successful society. This is why they absolutely included many references to God or "Our Creator" in their writings, just as how you will find our founding documents are doubtlessly based on Judeo-Christian concepts. Learn something about Moses, Ginxy.

Our founders made sure that in America there is just as much right to freely worship as there is to abstain from worship and not be forced by The State to practice any religion.

One final thought for you, Ginxy, regarding this "secret Muslim" issue you bring to the table... quite honestly, most of America could give a rat's backside what kind of Muslim he is - secret or otherwise. Dumb-ass.

Have a nice Labor Day, Ginxy.. enjoy the celebration of your grand Thug-ocracies, the AFL-CIO and SEIU. Just like a union-loving leftist to expect a Monday off without pay, so that their rich, corporate, capitalist-loving pig employer has to give them what they love best - something for nothing.

Thanks again, j-summ... and please, don't ever stop posting the hateful, ignorant rhetoric offered by our leftist friends who visit you. They need to be published, because we need to continue to expose them for exactly what they are.
